How to sell multi-room (extra streams) on Plex, Emby and Jellyfin
Let customers pick how many screens they can watch on at once. Add stream options to a Plex, Emby or Jellyfin plan in one step.
On Plex, Emby and Jellyfin, multi-room means the number of streams a customer may watch at the same time. Every plan has its own stream limit. A stream option is the same plan with a higher limit and its own price, and your store shows the customer a Concurrent streams choice under that plan.
You set it up once per plan. Customers then pick their streams when they buy, and their account on your server gets that limit automatically.
1Step 1 of 5Open your server's plans
Go to Panels → Media servers → All media servers and click Manage on your Plex, Emby or Jellyfin server. Open the Plans tab.
2Step 2 of 5Open the stream options of a plan
On the plan you want to offer more screens for (for example Basic), click Stream options (multi-room). The first row shows the plan itself with its own stream count and prices for each length you sell.
3Step 3 of 5Add the stream counts
Click Add stream option and set the number of streams, for example 3. Add another row for 4, and so on. Each stream count must be higher than the plan's own.
4Step 4 of 5Set the prices
Enter a price for each length. Leave a price empty to not sell that length with that many streams.
To save typing, enter an amount under Extra per stream per month and click Fill empty prices. Every empty price becomes the plan's price plus that amount for each extra stream and each month. You can still change any price afterwards.
5Step 5 of 5Save
Click Save stream options. The new options are added to the same product right away. On your store, customers who pick the plan now see Concurrent streams with each count and its price.
What happens behind the scenes
- Each stream count gets its own copy of the plan, named like Basic · 4 streams. It has the same libraries, quality and download settings as the plan; only the stream limit is higher. If you change the plan later, open Stream options (multi-room) and save again to update the copies.
- On Emby and Jellyfin the limit is set on the customer's account itself. Plex has no per-user limit of its own, so our stream checker stops any stream over the customer's limit.
- Renewals keep the customer's stream count and price.
- In a bundle, the Plex or Emby part can use any stream option, for example Basic · 12 Months · 4 streams.
- An option a customer already has, or that a bundle uses, is never removed when you clear its price, so their renewal keeps working.
Copy a plan instead
To make a different plan from an existing one (for example a Kids plan with fewer libraries), click Duplicate on the plan's card. You get a copy with every setting filled in. Change the name and what differs, then save.
