Your store's name is kept in two places: the Store name, which your storefront shows, and the Business Name, which your customers see in emails, at checkout and in their account. Change both, then check the texts you wrote yourself.

1Step 1 of 5Change the Store name

Go to Storefront → Theme & drafts and open the Store details tab. Type the new name in Store name and click Save changes.

This name shows in your store's header (when you have no logo picture), in the footer, in the browser tab and the title search engines show for your home page, on the invoices customers print from their account, and as the app name when a customer adds your store to their home screen. Click Open live site to check it.

2Step 2 of 5Change the Business Name

Go to Settings → White-label. Type the new name in Business Name and click Save Changes. Your emails, checkout, the customer area and the titles of your product pages use this name.

3Step 3 of 5Change the text you wrote yourself

Go to Storefront → Edit on your site. The Edit mode bar at the top says how your theme is edited; on most themes you click the text to change it. Look for the old name in your headline, banner and other texts. If your logo is a picture with the old name on it, upload a new picture.

4Step 4 of 5Check your pages

Go to Storefront → Pages. Open each page whose Title or text has the old name, change it and click Save changes. The page keeps its address, so links to it keep working. If you filled in a page's Meta title, change that too.

If you use the SEO Suite module and set your own Meta title there, change it there as well. Without one, the title follows your Store name.

5Step 5 of 5Know what keeps the old name for a while

  • Your Shop URL stays the same: it is permanent (see Storefront → Domains). To show the new name in the address, connect your own domain with Add Domain.
  • Google and other search engines show the new title after they visit your store again, which can take a few days or weeks.
  • Customers who already added your store to their home screen may keep the old app name until they add it again.
  • The store name in your own store list in the portal (the store switcher and the overview of your stores) is your account name. Ask us in chat and we change it for you.
