How to add YouTube and Vimeo videos to your store pages and help articles
Paste a YouTube or Vimeo link on its own line in a store page or a knowledge base article and your customers see a video player. Free on every plan.
A setup video helps customers more than a page of text. You can show YouTube and Vimeo videos on your own store pages and in your knowledge base articles. It's free on every plan.
The video plays inside your page. YouTube videos use YouTube's privacy-enhanced player, and Vimeo videos play with Vimeo's do-not-track setting.
1Step 1 of 4Copy the video link
Open the video on YouTube or Vimeo and copy its address, or use the Share button there. These links all work:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=…https://youtu.be/…https://www.youtube.com/shorts/…https://vimeo.com/…
To start the video at a set moment, keep the start time in the link, for example ?t=90 for 90 seconds in.
An unlisted Vimeo link (one with a second code after the video number) stays a normal link and doesn't become a player.
2Step 2 of 4Open the page or article
For a store page, go to Storefront → Pages. Click New page, or the pencil next to a page you already have.
For a help article, go to Support → Knowledge base. Click New Article, or edit an article you already have.
3Step 3 of 4Paste the link on its own line
In the content box (Content (Markdown) on a store page), paste the link on a line of its own, with an empty line above and below it:
Here's how to install the app on your TV:
https://youtu.be/your-video
When it's installed, sign in with the details from your welcome email.
A link inside a sentence stays a normal link. A link with its own text, like [Watch the video](https://youtu.be/…), also stays a link. You can add up to 20 videos to one page or article.
4Step 4 of 4Save and check it
On a store page, click Create page or Save changes, then open the page on your store. In a knowledge base article, the Preview tab already shows the player before you save.
