How to upload your own videos and show them on your store with the Video Library
Upload your own setup and help videos, 10 GB included, and show them on your store's Video guides page or inside any store page or help article.
A short video shows a customer how to set up their app faster than a page of text. With the Video Library add-on you upload your OWN videos to your store, and your customers watch them on your store's Video guides page or inside a store page or help article.
The Video Library is a paid add-on: €9.99 a month, with 10 GB of storage for your store. Videos play from fast cloud storage, so a busy evening on your store doesn't slow anything down.
Prefer YouTube or Vimeo? Pasting a YouTube or Vimeo link is free on every plan, see the related guide below.
1Step 1 of 6Add the Video Library module
Go to Modules → Browse all modules, find Video Library and add it to your store. Once it is active, a new row Video library appears in your menu under Support, right below Knowledge base.
2Step 2 of 6Upload a video
Go to Support → Video library and click Upload video. Pick an MP4 or WebM file from your computer.
- One video can be up to 500 MB. A clear 2–5 minute setup video is usually 20–60 MB.
- Your store has 10 GB in total. The Storage bar at the top shows how much you use, for example "1.4 GB of 10 GB".
- The bar under the button shows the upload's progress. Keep the page open until it says the video is uploaded.
The file goes straight from your computer to the video storage. When it has arrived we check its size, and then it shows in your list.
3Step 3 of 6Give it a title, a category and an order
Click Edit on the video. Fill in the Title, a Category (for example "Setup" or "Help") and an optional Description, then click Save.
Videos with the same category are shown together on your store. Change the number in Order to decide which video comes first (lower numbers first).
To choose the picture customers see before they press play, click Cover image and pick a JPEG, PNG or WebP image of up to 2 MB.
4Step 4 of 6Publish it
Switch Published on. Only published videos show on your store. Click Open Video guides to see the page as your customers do.
Your store now has a Video guides link (in the footer or the menu, depending on your theme), and the page itself is at /videos on your store's address (for example https://your-domain.com/videos).
5Step 5 of 6Show a video inside a page or a help article
Every uploaded video has its own line, like [video:v1a2b3c…], under its title in the Video library. Click the line to copy it.
Open the page in Storefront → Pages or the article in Support → Knowledge base, and paste the line on a line of its own, with an empty line above and below it. Save, then open the page or article on your store: the video plays right there.
Only your own published videos play this way. In the editor's preview the line still shows as text, the player appears on your store.
6Step 6 of 6Delete a video
Click Delete on the video and confirm. The file is removed from the storage and from your store, and the space is free again.
