How to migrate from WHMCS to IPTVbp

Switching your IPTV billing off WHMCS should not mean re-keying every client by hand. IPTVbp's built-in importer, free for every store, brings your WHMCS clients, subscriptions and stream logins, products and prices, invoice history and support tickets into your new store — here is exactly how it works, and what you still do yourself.

Quick answer

To migrate from WHMCS to IPTVbp, open Customers → Import customers in your dashboard and pull your data with the recommended Export Script (a token-protected PHP file you download and upload to your own WHMCS server, which reads the WHMCS MySQL database directly and decrypts stream passwords), or with a WHMCS database backup (.sql or .sql.gz) if the server is offline or gone. On the mapping screen you map each WHMCS product to one of your IPTVbp products — or, with the Export Script or a backup, let IPTVbp create it from WHMCS with its billing cycles and prices — and map custom fields to username, password, or MAC. IPTVbp then creates a customer and a Subscription for every matching service, with its credentials, status and renewal date (from the next-due date), plus one paid migration invoice per subscription. With the Export Script or a backup the full migration also brings each client's details (phone, company, address, custom fields and notes) and original sign-up date, credit balances in your store currency as spendable store credit, every WHMCS invoice with its payments as read-only history, and support tickets with their replies. It does not provision new panel lines (it only links to existing ones). With the Export Script or a backup your customers keep their WHMCS password: they sign in with the same email and password. A customer whose WHMCS password is in a format older than WHMCS 4.2.1 gets a random portal password, so you send them a password reset after import. The WHMCS importer is free for every store, the free plan included, with nothing to buy and no code to enter. The importer never provisions, modifies, or cancels your panel lines, so nothing it does interrupts your customers' current streams.

Step by step

  1. 1

    Pre-create your products (optional)

The WHMCS importer is free for every store, the free plan included: there is nothing to buy or switch on. You can create the IPTVbp products you want customers mapped onto beforehand, or let the full migration create them from WHMCS on the mapping screen. Any WHMCS product left unmapped has all of its services skipped.

  2. 2

Open Import customers and choose your ingest method

In your dashboard go to Customers → Import customers (on the WHMCS Migration tab, next to the free CSV importer). Pick the recommended Export Script, or a database backup if your WHMCS server is offline or gone. Both are the full path: they also read prices, client details, invoice history, tickets, addons and configurable options.

  3. 3

    Pull your WHMCS data

Export Script: enter your WHMCS store URL, click Generate Export Script, download the token-protected PHP file, and upload it to your WHMCS root (the folder containing configuration.php) via cPanel, FTP, or SSH. It runs on your own server — parsing your DB credentials from configuration.php, reading the WHMCS MySQL database directly, and decrypting stream passwords with your install's encryption hash — then sends the data to IPTVbp, compressed. If your server cannot send it, open the script's page in your browser, download the file it offers and upload that file instead. IPTVbp never connects to your database itself. Database backup: upload a mysqldump of the WHMCS database; stream passwords inside a backup stay encrypted, so map them from a custom field or set them afterwards.

  4. 4

Review counts and choose which statuses to import

Both methods lead to the same steps. Review the fetched client, service, and product counts, then choose which WHMCS statuses to import — the default is Active only. Active maps to ACTIVE and Suspended maps to SUSPENDED; every other status (Terminated, Cancelled, Pending, and so on) collapses to EXPIRED and is skipped unless you explicitly select it.

  5. 5

Map products, custom fields, addons, and options

Choose the target shop and, optionally, a panel integration. Map each WHMCS product — per billing cycle where a product has several — to one of your existing IPTVbp products, or choose "Create from WHMCS". Map custom fields to username, password, MAC address, panel user ID, email, or notes, and map product addons and configurable options to Adult or Multiroom (+N connections). Set the auth type per product (auto, username/password, or MAC) where needed.

  6. 6

    Review and start the import

Choose what else to bring over — customer details, credit balances, invoice history and support tickets (all on by default with the Export Script or a backup). Start the import — it commits directly in batches of 50 inside transactions (there is no dry-run for WHMCS), and the full migration runs in the background with live progress. For each matching service it creates the customer records, a Subscription with your mapped credentials and an end date taken from the next-due date, plus one paid "migration" invoice.

  7. 7

Send password resets where needed and delete the export script

With the Export Script or a database backup, customers sign in with the email and password they used on WHMCS. Customers whose WHMCS password is in a format older than WHMCS 4.2.1 get a random password: send them a password reset from the Customers page. If you used the Export Script, delete the PHP file from your WHMCS server afterward. Re-running is safe: duplicate emails reuse the existing customer, duplicate product+credential subscriptions are skipped, and invoices, tickets, credit and created products that already came over are not added twice.

What the WHMCS importer actually creates

The importer reads your WHMCS data and turns it into real IPTVbp records — it is a genuine data move, not a screen-scrape, and it is precise about what it writes.

  • ●A customer login (role end-customer) with the client's own WHMCS password when the Export Script or a backup carries it (otherwise a random one), plus an EndCustomer per shop — if a client has no email, an EndCustomer is still created but without a login (no portal account).
  • ●One Subscription per WHMCS service, carrying username, password, MAC, status, start date, and end/renewal date from the next-due date, plus one PAID "migration" invoice that starts its billing in IPTVbp.
  • ●Products created from WHMCS when you choose so: name, description, product group as category, and one length per billing cycle that is switched on in WHMCS, priced from WHMCS. They are created hidden from your store, so nothing goes on sale until you have checked it and set its panel package.
  • ●Client details: phone, company, address and country, client custom fields, admin notes, and the original WHMCS sign-up date. Only empty fields are filled — details a customer already has in IPTVbp are kept.
  • ●Credit balances in your store currency become spendable store credit, shown to the customer as a balance carried over from their previous account.
  • ●The WHMCS invoices of every client who comes over, as read-only history — number, dates, status, line items, totals and payment method, linked to the imported subscription it billed (drafts are left out). Customers see them under "Earlier invoices" in their account; you see them on the customer's page, with the payments recorded against each. They are never charged again and never counted as revenue.
  • ●Support tickets with their replies and status; replies from your staff are posted under your account with the WHMCS admin's name.
  • ●A panel link only when you mapped a panel-user-ID custom field AND selected a panel integration — it links to an existing line, it does not provision a new one.

Two ways to pull your data: Export Script or database backup

IPTVbp gives you two ways in, and both feed the same mapping screen and the same import engine.

  • ●Export Script (recommended): a generated, token-protected, 24-hour PHP file you run on your own WHMCS host. It reads the WHMCS MySQL database directly and decrypts stream passwords using your install's encryption hash, and it carries everything: prices, client details, invoice history, tickets, addons and configurable options.
  • ●Database backup: upload a .sql or .sql.gz mysqldump when the WHMCS server is offline or gone. It carries the same data as the script, except that stream passwords stay encrypted.
  • ●IPTVbp never connects to your WHMCS database — with the Export Script the database read happens entirely on your server, then only the resulting data is sent to IPTVbp. The data is kept for at most seven days and cleared as soon as the migration has run.

What does not transfer automatically

A truthful migration plan matters more than a one-click promise. These items you handle yourself, by design.

  • ●Panel provisioning — no new lines are created; existing external lines are only linked when a panel user ID is mapped and a panel is selected, and a product created from WHMCS needs its panel package set before it can sell.
  • ●Credit in a currency other than your store currency — it is not converted; the amount is written in the customer's notes for you to settle. Affiliate balances are copied as notes on the migration invoice, not restored as funds.
  • ●Old invoices are history, not payable bills — an unpaid WHMCS invoice is not chased again in IPTVbp; renewals start from the imported subscription.
  • ●Tax IDs, orders, domains, ticket attachments, and saved payment methods or cards — none of these are imported.

Will your customers keep streaming?

The importer moves billing records into IPTVbp — it does not touch, reprovision, or cancel your actual IPTV lines. Existing panel lines keep running as they are; the importer at most links to them read-only. Portal access comes over too: with the Export Script or a backup your customers sign in with their WHMCS email and password. Only customers with a very old WHMCS password format need a password reset, so plan that send from the Customers page as part of go-live. Because duplicate emails reuse the existing customer and duplicate subscriptions are skipped, you can run the import more than once safely while you refine your mapping.

The platform you are migrating onto

IPTVbp is IPTV-native billing and automation, not a generic host-billing tool retrofitted for streams. It ships with the panel integrations, payment rails, and white-label controls resellers actually need.

  • ●18 IPTV panels — NXT, XUI, Xtream UI, Ultra 8K, Strong 8K, Activation Panel, Xtream Masters and 11 more — plus Plex, Jellyfin, Emby and Silo.
  • ●19 payment gateways, among them Stripe, PayPal, SumUp, Square, Rampex, NOWPayments, Plisio, Litepay, BTCPay, PayRam and Interac e-Transfer.
  • ●Full white-label: brand name, logo, favicon, colors, custom CSS and meta, a "hide Powered by" toggle, free per-vendor subdomains, and custom domains via CNAME behind Cloudflare SSL.
  • ●Plans from the free trial (€0, free until you have 25 paying customers) to Starter €29/mo, Professional €79/mo, Business €149/mo (Most Popular), and Enterprise €299/mo.

Why IPTVbp

  • ✓Built-in WHMCS importer, free for every store: a real Export Script migration path inside the vendor portal (or an SQL backup when WHMCS is offline), not a paid consulting project.
  • ✓The database read happens on your own server and stream passwords are decrypted locally, so IPTVbp never needs your WHMCS database credentials.
  • ✓IPTV-native billing: username/MAC auth, bouquets, multiroom, and adult packages are first-class, not bolt-ons.
  • ✓18 IPTV panels, Plex, Jellyfin, Emby and Silo, and 19 payment gateways (cards, wallets, crypto, and Interac) out of the box.
  • ✓Full white-label with custom domains and a free trial with no end date (free until you have 25 paying customers) to evaluate the platform first. The WHMCS importer is free on every plan, the free trial included.
  • ✓Honest, mapping-driven import: you control exactly which products, statuses, fields and history land where — and re-runs are safe.

Frequently asked questions

What doesn't transfer automatically from WHMCS to IPTVbp?+

Panel provisioning does not transfer: no new lines are created, and a product created from WHMCS needs its panel package set before it can sell. Credit in a currency other than your store currency is not converted (it stays as a note), affiliate balances are copied only as notes, and tax IDs, orders, domains, ticket attachments and saved payment methods are not imported. Old invoices come over as read-only history, not as bills to chase.

Will my customers be disrupted during the migration?+

The importer itself will not disrupt them. It moves billing records into IPTVbp and never touches, reprovisions, or cancels your live IPTV lines, so existing streams keep working. With the Export Script or a database backup your customers keep their WHMCS password and sign in with the same email and password. Customers whose WHMCS password is in a format older than WHMCS 4.2.1 get a random password, so send them a password reset from the Customers page at go-live. You can safely re-run the import while refining your mapping, because duplicate emails reuse the existing customer and duplicate subscriptions are skipped.

Does IPTVbp need my WHMCS database password?+

No. With the recommended Export Script, you upload a token-protected PHP file to your own WHMCS server; it parses your database credentials from configuration.php, reads the WHMCS MySQL database directly on your host, and returns the results to IPTVbp. IPTVbp never connects to your database. If your WHMCS server is offline, upload a database backup instead: that needs no database password either.

Does the importer bring over my WHMCS invoices and payment history?+

Yes, with the Export Script or a database backup. The WHMCS invoices of every client who comes over are brought as read-only history — number, dates, status, line items, totals, payment method and the payments recorded against them — linked to the customer and, where an invoice billed a service, to the imported subscription. Customers see them under "Earlier invoices" in their account and you see them on the customer's page. They are history only: never charged again and never counted as revenue in IPTVbp. Each imported subscription also gets one paid "migration" invoice that starts its billing in IPTVbp. Credit balances in your store currency become spendable store credit.

Will it recreate my products and pricing automatically?+

It can. On the mapping screen, map each WHMCS product (per billing cycle where needed) to one of your IPTVbp products, or choose "Create from WHMCS": IPTVbp creates the product with its WHMCS name, description and group, with one length per billing cycle that is switched on in WHMCS, priced from WHMCS in your store currency. If WHMCS has no prices in your store currency it uses the WHMCS default-currency prices and tells you to check them. New products are created hidden from your store until you have checked them and set their panel package. This needs the Export Script or a database backup; any WHMCS product you leave unmapped has all of its services skipped.

How are my customers' stream usernames and passwords handled?+

The Export Script decrypts service and custom-field passwords on your own server using your install's encryption hash and imports them onto the subscription, so most stream logins carry over intact. Decryption is best-effort across WHMCS 8.x and 7.x schemes — if it cannot decrypt a value it returns it as-is, so a few passwords may need manual fixing. A database backup cannot carry them, because WHMCS encrypts them with a key that is not in the backup. Because no panel line is provisioned, credentials are stored for reference and linked to existing lines only when you map a panel user ID.

Is the WHMCS migration included, or is it an extra?+

It is included, free, for every store: the WHMCS importer is on for every plan, the free trial too, with nothing to buy and no code to enter. The generic CSV importer, for exports from any other system, is free for every store too. Prefer not to do it yourself? We do the move for you, free of charge.
